Sports Design

Philadelphia's own 76ers are rebranding the team with their old school logo. It's always interesting when brands look backwards for design inspiration, rather than forward. I always liked the old logo anyway. From the article:

"By bringing back the old Sixers logo, we are connecting the past with the future," said Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider. "This logo evokes memories of some of this franchise's proudest moments. We also made this change because we understood how much this logo means to our fans, this franchise and to our city. The fans had a big input on this decision. We're excited and we want the entire City of Philadelphia to be excited for Sixers basketball."

Music Tees

Here is some cool t-shirt news. The new Mos Def album, The Ecstatic, will be officially released as a t-shirt. Yes, a t-shirt. From the article:

In the first of what music and fashion company Invisible DJ hope will be a long line of releases in this format (dubbed Music Tee), the t-shirts will have the album's artwork on the front, its tracklist on the back and a code to download the music printed on the label.

This is an interested strategy to revive the music industry, and an even more interesting strategy to sell a t-shirt. What do you guys think? Would you buy a t-shirt just for the music, or vice verse?

Spiderman + U2

News has it that U2 front men Edge and Bono are bringing a Spiderman musical to Broadway. And, it's not going to be a cheap production. From the LA Times:

Things are ramping up for "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," which brings the wallcrawler to the Great White Way in January in a production that may turn out to be the most expensive in the history of Broadway.

Human Tee from "The Hangover" - Get Yours in July!

This summer's hottest comedy, The Hangover, features Zach Galifianakis wearing the Junk Food Human Tee. The film recently had a feature in the LA Times, where Zach was pictured (below) wearing the tee. Also from the LA Times, you can find a video review of the film here.
